Farnham's Weather

This town of some 35,000 souls is situated on the Surrey/Hampshire border in the south-east of the United Kingdom, some 30 miles from London, and enjoys, on the whole, a relatively mild climate. The average annual rainfall is reckoned to be about 25 inches (635mm). (To see some photographs of the town and surrounding area please click here.)

For some years now I have been taking daily readings of rainfall and maximum and minimum temperatures. The location of the original recording site was NGR SU842457 (51° 12.2' N 0° 47.7' W), however from mid-March 2009 the location changed to SU839458 (51° 12.3' N 0° 47.9' W). On this website you may inspect the records for the last 12 months. On each month's record there is also a comparison with the same month over the preceding five years.

Anyone wishing to view records going back beyond those presented here is welcomed to contact me with a specific request via email.
